30th November 2018

Quality and Automation

Summary:

On Friday 30th November, the second successive South African Single Day Event (SDE) was held in Bloemfontein at Emoya Estate. Themed ‘Quality and Automation’, this year’s SDE focused on how organisations embrace more efficient ways of improving quality and turnaround times on delivering to customers, from a pharmaceutical programming perspective.

The agenda featured presentations not only based on programming aspects but also looking at soft skills contributing to quality and how automation can impact quality and efficiency. Six presentations in the morning, alternating between technical and soft skill, provided a nice combination to keep everyone’s attention. Completing the morning sessions a few minutes ahead of schedule provided the audience and presenters some time for networking.

After lunch we had one presentation that set the stage for the topic of the panel discussion, which was based on the pros and cons of automation. The panel discussion turned out to be a very interactive session, with a lot of input from the audience and the panel itself. Based on informal feedback, attendees found the presentations and content relevant and informative and enjoyed the panel discussion most of all.

Event Chairs Chanelle Foster and Jaco van Blerk would like to thank all the presenters, those part of the panel and their companies, the sponsors, everyone who helped organise the day, and, of course, all attendees for making the PHUSE South Africa SDE 2018 a successful event.
