Theme:

Problems and Solutions in Data Sciences Pharma

Description:

Data science is a multi-disciplinary field that combines domain expertise and programming skills with mathematics and statistics. Data science is industry-sector-agnostic and is currently the most emerging trend. Indeed, a popular job-posting portal quoted a 29% year-on-year increase in demand for data scientists and highlighted the gap in supply vs demand. Coursera, a popular MOOC, has listed data science, machine learning, Python, neural network and deep learning among its top 10 most popular courses.

Industry sectors like banking, e-commerce, insurance, retail, internet and digital media have been early adapters of data science, thereby fundamentally transforming their business process, product and service offerings.

Pharma CROs, being a more regulated industry, may not have been among the early adapters, but we have not been laggards either. Applications of data science in healthcare can be seen in imaging, diagnostics and clinical decision-making. The pharma R&Ds and their CRO partners have also put into motion data science concepts in their processes, technology and people.
This Single Day Event is aimed at sharing ideas/concepts, proof of concepts, pilot projects and work in progress applications of data science in clinical research. This confluence of industry fraternity exchange will enable us to look at our clinical research problem statements through the lens of data science, thereby appreciating the solutions and the challenges which go hand in hand for us 21st century clinical research professionals.
