David Handelsman - Health & Life Sciences, Global Practice SAS 

                           
 
Dave Handelsman is the business solutions manager for life sciences research and development within the Health and Life Sciences Global Practice business unit at SAS, the world's largest privately held software company. The Health and Life Sciences Global Practices is composed of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, health care provider and health care insurer experts - all focused on supporting SAS' capabilities regarding the converging health and life sciences markets.
 
Handelsman leads the strategic development and marketing of clinical research and development software at SAS.  He is responsible for ensuring that SAS continues to develop and promote solutions that address not only the life sciences industry's current needs, but also its long-term requirements.
 
Prior to joining SAS in 2000, Handelsman was a senior director with ClinTrials Research, and before that, he worked with PRA in Mannheim, Germany and Charlottesville, Virginia.  He is a frequent industry speaker, and was the 2008  keynote speaker at the PharmaSUG (Pharmaceutical Users SAS Users Group) convention.
