Annual Conference 2013
Patient Centricity
13th - 16th October 2013
In 2013 the topic
of the annual PhUSE conference will be "Patient Centricity".
Patient Centricity is often abused as a buzz word in our industry. For most Statistical Programmers Patient Centricity does not have a meaning at all. We people working in biometric departments in Pharma companies and CROs are far away from patients and have no direct contact with people suffering from serious diseases.
Day in day out, we work with Patient data though. We know their birth dates, their gender, their social habits. We know how much alcohol they drink and if they smoke cigarettes or cigars. We know which medications they take and track their disease progressions. We often know when they dies. So can anyone else be closer to the patient than we people who work in the biometric departments? Does anyone have more information about patients than we do?
At PhUSE 2013, Patients will be at the heart of our conference.
We will have workshops focusing on indications, diseases and data analysis. We want to understand the data we work with every day. We will have discussion clubs where we will discuss and learn how we could further improve standardization in various therapeutic areas. We will also learn what else we can do to make patients lives better.
Everything else that has made PhUSE so successful for many years will stay the same. The streams will be the backbone of our conference, with 14 streams to present relevant topics in various fields of our work.
PhUSE is second to none with regards to networking and there will be plenty of time to share knowledge with colleagues and friends. Discussion Clubs will open the floor for discussions on relevant subjects and will be followed up through the Wiki.
